Janet LH Marcavage
Genetic Revolution
Janet Marcavage is currently a graduate student in the MFA program at The University of WI-Madison. She will receive her Masters of Fine Arts in May 2004. Janet is originally from Philadelphia , PA and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts. Prior to attending graduate school, Marcavage resided in The Bay Area in California , making prints and maintaining her share of a cooperative visual art studio. Marcavage has participated in several group and solo exhibitions, including a recent solo exhibition at Edgewood College in Wisconsin and a group printmaking exhibition at Illinois Wesleyan University . Conceptual threads revolving around identity and origin run throughout Marcavage's work. She is concerned with the interweaving of relationships, heredity, and the physical body. Her art work utilizes printmaking, papermaking, and installation. The visual language throughout Marcavage's work represents biological connections.
